The first year of the trial is completed. It has been observed that
increased level |
of fertilizer application (from 75% to 100%) has improved cane yield
234.67 Kg/plot to |
258.83 Kg/plot. At 125% of normal dose of fertilizer a further improvement
in yield was |
noticed (280.30 Kg/plot). Yield of sugarcane, intercropped with soybean
was higher than |
a pure stand crop. (292.06 Kg/plot and 258.0 Kg/plot respectively). |
|
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The effect on NMC by intercropping was however negative i.e. NMC in
intercropped |
plots was lesser than pure stand crop 271 in pure stand of sugarcane and
266.170 in |
|
intercrop plots in normal dose of fertilizer (Vide Table No. 3). |

Zn So4 at 4 different levels have been tried i.el at 12.5, 25.0, 37.5 and
50.0 Kg/ha with |
one check was tested on three different varieties Co 8011, Co 8014 and CoC
671. The |
general trend noticed here was that with increased dosage of Zn So4 from
'0' to 25 Kg/ha. |
there was increase in yield (from 161 Kg to 193.6 Kg/plot). But at 37.5
Kg/ha in variety |
Co 8011 has not showed any improved yield. However at 50 Kg/ha. dose again
there was an |
increase in yield. (222.6 Kg/plot). A similar is the case with CoC 671.
(from 140.3 Kg/plot |
to 179 Kg/plot) with the dosage from ' O ' to 25 Kg/ha). In respect of No.
of millable canes |
there is rise in No. of canes with the rise in Zinc Sulphate levels in
case of variety Co 8011. |
But Co 8014k and CoC 671 have behaved abnormally (Vide Table No. 4A and
4B). |
