4. SSV-4. USE
OF BIO-FERTILIZERS TO ECONOMISE NITROGEN USE IN SUGARCANE
This experiment
was taken with a view to find out the possibility of using Bio-fertilizers in sugarcane,
thus reducing the nitrogen use in cane cultivation. The experiment was located at Sy.No.71
' F ' Block of our farm. The experimental details are as given below.
Design :
Randomised block with three replications
Number of
Treatments : 10
T1 = Neemcake +
20% less than recommanded dose of nitrogen (200 Kg ha-1)
T2 = Neemcake +
40% less than recommanded dose of nitrogen (150 Kg ha-1)
T3 = Neemcake +
full dose of recommanded nitrogen (250 Kg ha-1)
T4 = Nitrin + 20%
less than recommanded dose of nitrogen (200 Kg ha-1)
T5 = Nitrin + 40%
less than recommanded dose of nitrogen (150 Kg ha-1)
T6 = Nitrin +
full dose of recommanded nitrogen (250 Kg ha-1)
T7 = Bactin + 20%
less than recommanded dose of nitrogen (200 Kg ha-1)
T8 = Bactin + 40%
less than recommanded dose of nitrogen (150 Kg ha-1)
T9 = Bactin +
full dose of recommanded nitrogen (250 Kg ha-1)
T10 = Only full
dose of recommanded nitrogen (250 Kg ha-1).
The data on juice
quality and yield and yield parameters were recorded and are given in Table 8 and 9.
