Year : 1981

Final varietal trial included Co 7530, Co 7603, Co 7804, Co 7610, varieties with one check, Co 62175. The trial was initiated on 31st Jan. 1981 in randomised block design with 4 replication. Observations recorded on germination percent, girth and height, flowering percent are presented in Table 3:1. Juice analysis and pol % cane were carried out at 9, 11 and 13 months age and yield and millable cane number were recorded at final harvest. The statistically analysed data on pol % cane, yield and millable canes are appended in Tables - 3:2, 3:3, 3:4, 3:5 and 3:6. Out of 4 varieties, none of them has shown statistically significant yield as compared to Co 62175. However, based on Pol % cane, the two varieties Co 7604 and Co 7530 were taken for large scale trial.
