Second stage clonal trial comprises 10 varieties viz. LK 364, Co 7801, Co 7802, Co 7803, Co 7804, Co 7805, Co 7806, Co 7807, Co 7808, Co 7810 with 2 checks. The trial was initiated on 1st February 1981 in Randomised Block Design with four replications. Observations on germination percent at 30 days after planting, girth and height at 9 months age were recorded (Table 2:1). Quality analysis were carried out at 9, 11 and 13 months age, the results are given in Tables 2:2, 2:3 and 2:4. Yield and millalble canes were recorded at 12 months age (Table 2:5, 2:6). Pol % cane and yield data were statistically analysed. Based on above observations 4 varieties Co 7804, Co 7805, Co 7808 and Co 7810 were promoted to third stage clonal trial.
