Title : Observations of Big Mill Trials of TS-1 at Somaiya Sugar Works, Sameerwadi.

To evaluate performance of TS-1, a thick cane mutant of Co 419 on a commercial scale, a big mill trial has been conducted on 19th January 1981. For this purpose TS-1 was planted in two acres area on 13th February 1980. Total quantity of cane raised  from this area was subjected to trial for over 45 minutes. Comparision was made by crushing an equal amount of commercial sugarcane (Co 419, Co 740 and Co 6415) supplyed to S.S.W. on the same day. Mill test reports of both TS-1 and Control are given in Tables 4:1, 4:2. It was found that in mill test TS-1 gave 10.58 expected recovery as compared to 9.21 of mixture of three varieties.
