Title : Experiment on use of Chemical rippeners.

Experiments conducted under the All India Co-ordinated Project on Sugarcane at several places have shown that use of chemical rippeners, hasten rippening of sugarcane and also prevent deterioration in juice in the late season. Cycocel is one such chemical which is claimed to have the beneficial effects. To test its efficiency under local conditions, a feeler experiment was conducted in December 1974.

Treatments:	1. Control without Cycocel spray.
	2. Cycocel spray at the rate of 10 lit. in 1000 lit. per hect.
Size of plot : 45 sq. meters with 5 rows.
Replications : 3.
Date of planting : December 1974.
Variety : Co 740.
Date of spraying : 2nd Sept. 75 (at 10 month age).
Results : When spraying was done at 10 month age of the crop, the treated plots showed improved sugar recovery over the control. For details vide Table No. 15 appended.
