The Godavari Sugar Mills Ltd. has implemented a Co-generation Power Project of 24 MW based on multi-fuel boiler using primarily bagasse as a fuel. The boiler can also burn coal in times of biomass shortages.
 
     
     
     
 
Cogen Plant:
24 MW Cogen facility is created in the first phase and commissioned in the year 2002. The Co-Gen plant comprises of one - boiler of Make Mitsui -Babcock, capacity 130 TPH of steam generation at pressure of 66Kg/cm2 and temp 4950C and one TG set of BHEL make capacity 24 MW, is of double extraction cum condensing turbine.
 
 
     
     
     
 
Now Godavari Biorefineries Ltd., is installing 1 X 21.56 MW Bagasse based Co-Gen plant comprising of one Boiler of make ISGEC John Thompson, capacity 120 TPH of steam generation at pressure of 87 Kg/Cm2 and temperature 515 ± 50C and one TG Set of make Shin Nippon Machinery Co., Ltd. capacity 21.56MW having single extraction cum back pressure turbine. The power generating capacity of Co-Gen plant by the year 2010 - 11 will be 45.56MW.
